  • Three-year programme to run from 2026-2028
Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia), through its corporate social responsibility arm, announced the expansion of its flagship environmental and education initiative, Allianz Eco Quest to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Langkawi, marking a new chapter in its long-term commitment to sustainable community empowerment in the island.
  •
  • The launch was officiated by Sean Wang, Chief Executive Officer, Allianz Malaysia accompanied by Mohammad Shauqi bin Md Rezali, Assistant Manager, Corporate Unit, Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (LADA) who is also the Coordinating Officer, Kg Angkat MADANI Pulau Tuba; Zakri Khir, Chairman, Allianz Malaysia; Board members and senior management from Allianz Malaysia.
  •
  • Sean said that the launch at SMK Langkawi underscores the Company’s belief that empowering youth is key to building resilient and sustainable communities.
  •
  • “Allianz Malaysia believes that creating sustainable impact requires consistency, continuity and community ownership. By extending Allianz Eco Quest to SMK Langkawi, we are empowering our alumni to become mentors, role models and changemakers, ensuring that the values of environmental stewardship and lifelong learning continue to grow within the community.”
  •
  • The three-year programme, running from 2026 to 2028, builds on the success of Allianz Eco Quest in Pulau Tuba, which has positively impacted primary school students since its pilot in 2022 and full rollout in 2023, in collaboration with Incredible Hearts PLT, a social organisation that focuses on customised education and a gamification approach towards education intervention.
  •
  • Unlike the primary school programme, which focuses on place-based and eco-education themes, the secondary school component of Allianz Eco Quest emphasises capacity building, equipping students with leadership, facilitation and practical life skills.
  •
  • Students will be organised into clubs including STEM, Sports and Expression, with additional clubs to be introduced in subsequent years. Sessions will be conducted twice a month, combining facilitator-led and student-led learning to encourage ownership and peer leadership.
  •
  • A key feature of the programme is its multiplier effect, where secondary school participants play an active role in mentoring younger students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Tuba. This approach helps establish a self-sustaining ecosystem in which knowledge, skills and values are passed down across cohorts, transforming Allianz Eco Quest into a long-term movement rather than a short-term intervention.
  •
  • The secondary school programme incorporates elements such as gamification, digitalisation, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, project-based learning, facilitation, integrity values and financial literacy.
  •
  • Annual camps will also be held to further nurture character development, teamwork and leadership, with students actively involved in facilitating activities for their primary school counterparts.
  •
  • Since its inception, Allianz Eco Quest has demonstrated measurable impact, including increased interest in learning, improved English communication skills and positive behavioural changes among participants.
  •
  • To date, the programme has engaged 45 active primary school learners and 30 alumni, many of whom now contribute as facilitators within the ecosystem.
